Before you order
- Mid-length gas on a 16 in. barrel is the reliable default.
- Chrome-lined or nitrided barrels last longest.
- Check your state's feature and magazine rules first.
Questions buyers ask
Can I put a different upper on my AR-15 lower?
Yes. Any mil-spec AR-15 upper fits a mil-spec lower. Changing to a 9mm upper usually needs a dedicated magazine block or a matching lower, and .308 needs the larger AR-10 lower.
