The Chiappa 1886 Standard Rifle is a faithful reproduction of the classic John M. Browning lever-action design, chambered in .45-70 Govt. Its 26-inch blued steel barrel and eight-round tubular magazine provide the traditional handling and practical capacity expected from a Model 1886 rifle. A color case-hardened receiver, hand-oiled walnut stock and forend, standard lever, and ejector extraction preserve its historic character. The rifle uses an adjustable windage blade front sight and an adjustable buckhorn rear sight with windage and elevation adjustments. Factory standard models do not include a manual, trigger, grip, or ambidextrous safety, and the barrel is not threaded or optic ready. The overall length is 45 inches and the weight is 9 pounds.
