Description
When the US Special Operations Command put out a request for a Personal Defense Weapon (PDW) to replace the MP5, Sig Sauer responded with the MCX Rattler; an absolutely groundbreaking short barrel rifle. The Rattler is based on Sig Sauer’s flagship MCX modular rifle, featuring its short-stroke recoil gas piston operating system. What separates Sig Sauer’s MCX platform from other AR/M4 style rifles is the recoil system that totally eliminates the need for a buffertube, making the MCX Rattler more compact than any AR/M4 rifle ever produced. The MCX Rattler PSB (pistol version) has a length of 19.3 inches when arm brace is collapsed and the MCX Rattler SBR has a length of only 16 inches when the stock is folded; both versions of the MCX weigh under 6 lbs. The rifle is currently chambered in .300 BLK features a 5.5 inch suppressor ready barrel and a aluminum free-floated handgaurd with M-LOK attachment points.
